The Friends of the Jackson Homestead, Newton, Massachusetts present The First Issue of their exclusive lead crystal cup plate. "Lead crystal, pressed cup plates of this type were used during the middle of the last century when fashion decreed teacups without handles. Hot tea was poured into the saucers to cool while the cup was placed on a small plate to prevent damage to delicate linens or polished tables."
